Fall Reading: Writing Down The Bones
Unity Arts Ministry’s Fall reading pick is Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within by Natalie Goldberg.
Back in my art school days, this book was required reading. I had never thought of myself as a writer before, but this book unlocked something in me. I learned that I didn’t need to be a professional writer to play with words on a page or to share my story one sentence at a time. Because of Natalie Goldberg’s book and my teacher’s gentle guidance, I was empowered to see writing as another art form for personal reflection and expression.
Whether you consider yourself a writer or not, I invite you to pick up this book over the fall. Sit down with a tasty warm beverage and let yourself play with words. If you live in the Kansas City area, you are invited to join us for our local book discussions at Unity Village Coffee Shop.
