Creative Journey to the Cotswolds

Feeling stuck in your creative practice? Do you want to paint or write, but tell yourself you aren’t creative? We invite you to (re)connect with your own creativity over ten days in the idyllic Cotswolds District of the UK, July 13 – 23, 2026. Experience a blend of community and introspection crafted to help you identify and break through blocks as you move into the next phase of your creative expression. Through all the outings and activities, we’ll keep journals that blend writing and visual arts techniques. No previous skills or experience are required, only an openness to say yes to your own inner calling to a more creative life!

Your hosts combine over 25 years of professional artistic experience. Artist, Jeniffer Hutchins has been described as a “magical maven of creative mischief who has a unique way of bringing forth the creativity that often gets buried in everyday life.” Melissa Goslin is an award-winning writer and filmmaker with over two decades of storytelling experience. Together they will help you find and express your unique creative voice.

DETAILS

Notgrove Holiday Estate is nestled in a 1500 acre serenely peaceful village and family farm with 32 picturesque Cotswold cottages. Includes access to laundry facilities, kitchenettes for morning coffee, and many patios and private spaces. Each sparkling clean room is complete with private bathrooms. Double and Single rooms available. All cottages have air conditioning, gas and solar thermal underfloor heating throughout the year.

Enjoy six days of excursions to regional destinations. Stratford upon Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespear, Broadway village is the inspiration of painter John Singer Sargent, and Oxford served as the set of the Harry Potter films. Not far beyond the region lies the massive stones and mystical stories of Stonehenge. With the exception of the latter, our exact schedule of outings is not set in stone.

Participate in workshops designed to help you overcome creative blocks, find your unique voice and express yourself with greater confidence. Receive daily creativity prompts to inspire your imagination. Gain access to the wisdom and experience of two professional artists in their respective fields of writing and painting. Engage in projects of your choice throughout the retreat.

Dietary requirements such as gluten free, vegan or vegetarian can be accommodated. Please check with hosts in advance if you have food allergies. Wine & soft drinks included with lunches and dinners.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Jeniffer Hutchins and Melissa Goslin have been creative allies for over 16 years. It all began while daydreaming about their creative passions while pushing strollers. Their children merrily ate cheerios and drew with crayons – and vice versa – unaware of the impact of the conversations above them. Through each word Jen and Melissa wove a new story of creative possibility in their lives.

Over the years the two women served as one another’s accountability partner, cheerleader, and spiritual support. They learned that while life does not always provide a simple path, creative expression can help us to cope with and to process the ups and downs and inspire others along the way.

Jeniffer Hutchins is an artist, spiritual leader, and creativity mentor who creates art and artistic experiences that nourish the soul. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art education, a master’s in divinity, and certification as a Reiki Master Teacher. She is founder of the non-profit organization Unity Arts Ministry (www.UnityArtsMinistry.org) through which she presents creativity workshops, retreats, and inspirational talks around the globe, spreading paint -and joy- everywhere she goes.

As an artist she is inspired by her love of nature and travels cross-country and abroad. She works with a variety of media including paint, collage, photography, and art journaling. Melissa Goslin is an award-winning writer and filmmaker with over two decades of storytelling experience. In addition to writing for several magazines and newspapers, she has written, directed and produced a number of short and feature films.

She holds an MFA in writing from Louisiana State University and an MPhil in Screen Media from University of Cambridge. Currently, Melissa is at work on her memoir about a life-changing neurological event/spiritual awakening. She lives in Shreveport, Louisiana with her kids and their cats. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:

One airport pick up and drop off time at Heathrow Airport will be arranged for the group. Pick up is scheduled for 2 pm on July 13^th. Drop off time is scheduled for mid-day on July 23^rd. Please ensure that you have ample time to arrive at the airport before and after your flights to accommodate the group transport.

Many of our past international retreat guests have found it beneficial to plan an extra day at a hotel near the airport before and or after the retreat. This will help to ensure you are able to pick your ideal flights while reducing stress caused by any travel delays.

Please note that there is a minimum participant number required for us to confirm our retreat. Do not purchase flights until you have received confirmation from the retreat hosts.

CANCELATIONS / REFUND POLICY:

Once the trip is confirmed all deposits and future payments are non-refundable.*

We highly encourage all participants to purchase full travel insurance.

*Should the retreat sell-out, a wait list will be created. If you need to cancel after the retreat is sold out and we are able to fill your spot with someone on the wait list, we will refund your payment minus a $200 processing fee.
