Explore your creativity with the Unity 12 Powers. Learn about your innate spiritual powers as defined by Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore. Create one of a kind art based on one or more of the 12 Powers colors.

We will use a pour painting technique that is easy and fun to do. No paintbrushes & no drawing skills are needed. You just mix and pour! Suggested materials list below.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

Materials listed are for one 8″x10″ canvas. Choose your paint colors according the Power(s) you would like to focus on.

  • 8″X10″ Gesso Prepped Canvas
  • acrylic paints various colors (metallic and plain craft level paint) – 2fl oz size ideal (Available at Michael’s/Hobby Lobby / Local Craft store)
  • Push pins (4 per canvas)
  • Catch bin of cardboard, or aluminum cooking tray, or plastic dinner tray – should be larger than your canvas
  • Small Plastic cups (1 per color – 4 to 5 colors recommended)
  • 1 large plastic cup for combining paints
  • small craft/popsicle sticks (1 per color) for mixing color
  • small size (1qt) Flood Floetrol (available at Home Depot/Lowes)
  • Paper towels
  • Clear gloss spray finish (optional)

For making coasters (optional):

  • small white glazed ceramic tiles (for kitchen and bath)
  • self-adhesive Cork Coasters Squares or circle for the back of the tiles
  • indoor /outdoor gloss spray finish (heat resistant)

Facilitated by Denise Bossarte. Denise is a writer, award-winning fine art photographer and artist. Denise has lived in Houston since 2012 with her husband Randy and cat Sapphira. She works for Houston ISD in the data warehouse department supporting student success across the district. Denise is a certified Contemplative Photography teacher and a member of the Global Unity Artists Coalition.

Her art has been exhibited in Texas and throughout the United States. She has conducted contemplative art workshops at multiple venues, including Buddhist Meditation Centers, Unity Churches, museums, and galleries. Denise’s passion is sharing the contemplative art experience to help others connect with their innate, Spirit-blessed creativity in a playful and fun way. Art is the way I pray.
