Unity Social Action Position
"The Unity movement stands for and will tirelessly work for harmony so all people may know the freedom of peaceful expression; so they may know their own inner worth and essential contribution to the whole of life." (Read full statement here.)
“It has meant a lot to me to find a Unity ministry that focuses on spirit through creative expression–whatever form that expression might take. And that is the Unity Art Ministry. Imagine understanding Unity principles at a deeper level by expressing your inner experiences through creative expression! How cool is this idea for ministry! I love it.
I have found acceptance even on days where I show up an emotional mess. Rev. Jeniffer holds the space for me and hands me art supplies (or if we are on Zoom, makes gentle suggestions for art).” Barbara Hadley, Kansas City, MO
Who We Are
Unity Arts Ministry is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the teachings of Unity with a focus on creative expression.
Unity teaches that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred worth. Living from that awareness transforms our lives and the world. Unity emphasizes the creative power of thought in our life experience. Choosing life affirming thoughts, words and actions, we experience a more fulfilling and abundant life.
What We Do
We are here to support you through in person and online workshops, retreats and special events combining spiritual enrichment with creative expression.
Our dynamic website and social media engagement provide inspirational content to support you on your spiritual journey. We invite you to join our FaceBook group "Unity Arts Community" for supportive community; inspirational prompts; book studies; and monthly Artist Trading Card exchange.
Why Art Ministry
We believe creativity is our birthright—and art-making can be practiced by anyone for the purpose of self-expression, growth and discovery.
Exploring art-making can awaken curiosity and childlike wonder, becoming a form of conscious play. It can also be a tool for mindfulness by sharpening our focus, deepening our awareness and bringing us peace, joy and self-acceptance. In fact–as creative beings–engaging our creative impulses and expressing them without self-judgment or comparison to others can lead us home to our deepest nature and truest self.
